Three Safoora carnage suspects remanded in police custody till Sept 30

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday has remanded as many as three suspects behind Safoora carnage in police custody till September 30.

The suspects Sultan Qamar, Hussain Umar and Naeem Sajjid were presented before the court for hearing during which the investigation officer demanded to extend culprits’ remand for further probe. He argued that the suspects facilitated their accomplices with weapons.

The officer told the court that Sultan Qamar, deputy director of Fisheries, assisted terrorists despite being a government employee.

It is pertinent to mention here that Safoora bus massacre claimed more than 45 lives.
