LAHORE: Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has the authority to direct National Accountability Bureau (NAB) if he needs to.
The Law Minister addressed a press conference today in the provincial capital.
He said that Punjab authorities would welcome National Accountability Bureau if it decides to initiate action against corruption after Sindh.
Sanaullah said that he is liable to offer a reasonable justification if corruption worth a penny is proven against him. He urged different sections of society to draw positive conclusion off Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s statement regarding bureau’s working.
The Prime Minister has called to strengthen National Accountability Bureau, he added.
The provincial minister said that PM Nawaz is in no way responsible for shortcomings and mistakes committed by different institutions.
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had addressed a gathering in Bahawalpur and urged NAB to act responsibly. He said that the bureau needs to reconsider its limits and approach of action.
He went on to say that the accountability department raids innocent persons’ residences.
