Turkish Defence Minister meets Gen Raheel Sharif

RAWALPINDI: Minister of National Defence of Turkey, Mr Fikri Isik called on Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Friday.

“During the meeting, the Turkish minister appraised Pak-Army’s sacrifices in operation Zarb-e-Azb, said Inter Services Public Relation in a statement.

The ISPR further said that matters of mutual interest including regional security and defence collaboration were also discussed in the meeting. Turkish Defence Minister appreciated Pakistan Army’s accomplishments in Op ZeA and contributions towards regional peace and stability,” read a post on the ISPR’s website.

A couple of days ago, General Raheel Sharif had met United States Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale and conveyed his concerns over the recent American drone strike that killed former Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour.
