KARACHI: Two Police personnel were taken into custody after a ‘suspicious’ encounter which led to the killing of a youth in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal locality on Friday.
The deceased, Syed Atique, was a student of Rangers’ college, according to his cousin. He said that police opened fire after his cousin tried to speed away despite the policemen identified as Zafar and Bandal signaled him to stop.
Police officials said that the investigation was going on and if the police personnel would be found guilty, the due punishment would be given.
Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah also took notice of the incident and asked Sindh Inspector General (IG) for the report. CM also talked to the family of deceased boy and assured them that they would be given justice and strict action would taken if boy would be proven innocent.
