MULTAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday said that two parties have been taking their turns to come into power since 1970.
Addressing a public rally here, said, “Those taking their turns to come in power are becoming wealthy with the passage of each day while the nation is getting poor.”
Imran Khan further alleged that some people, who had no personal property 20 years back, now have billions of dollars in their foreign accounts.
The PTI chief criticized the government for the metro bus project worth Rs60 billion, adding that this amount, if granted to the poor farmers, could have changed their fate.
“PTI wants a Pakistan where people have their value,” Khan said.
Khan congratulated the people for things being disclosed in the hearings of Judicial Commission, probing into alleged rigging in 2013 general elections.
Earlier during the preparation for the rally, PTI office bearers and workers misbehaved with media persons and manhandled them at district sports ground – the venue of the PTI public meeting.
The trouble started when PTI workers asked the crew of private news TV channels to move their DSNG van out of the ground and upon refusal they threatened to set on fire the DSNG van.
Upon this the media crew boycotted the event and went outside of the premises.
However, later PTI MNA Malik Amir Dogar and PTI district president Ijaz Janjua apologised to media and persuaded them to return to the venue of the public meeting.
