Japanese observe 70th anniversary of Nagasaki bombing

The Japanese are observing today the 70th anniversary of the victims of atomic bombing on Nagasaki by US forces in the World War-II.

Approximately seventy thousand people were killed when the US forces dropped atom bomb.

Earlier, the Japanese observed remembrance of the victims of atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima Thursday in which more than one hundred thousand people were killed by America.

The US says it took the drastic step of dropping atomic bombs on Japan to put an early end to World War II.

The atom bomb was comprised of six thousand tonnes of poisonous gases.
