KARACHI: A nationwide campaign against polio disease begins in the country on Monday.
According to the Punjab Emergency Operation Coordinator Dr. Munir Ahmad, the campaign will target around eighteen point four million children below the age of five, throughout the province.
He said as per National Immunization Technical Advisory Group recommendation, measures are being taken to prepare a booster anti-polio dose for children above five-year of age.
Radio Pakistan reports that six-day campaign would be launched tomorrow in six districts of Karachi including Malir, Korangi South west, East and Central and some other districts of Sindh.
Sources of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department told Radio Pakistan that more than six point five million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops during three days campaign in the province and FATA.
Three days anti-polio drive also commences in thirty districts of Balochistan tomorrow in which over 2.4 million children below the age of five will be administered polio drops.
Baltistan Health Services department will hold polio campaign tomorrow in Skardu, Shigar, Kharmang, Ghanche, Roundo and Gultari.
According to official sources, a total of over seven hundred and thirty seven thousand children would be administered anti-polio drops in Azad Kashmir.
