DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan says federal government has allocated seventy-two billion rupees for uplift of public sector universities in the country.
Addressing the Convocation at Gomal University Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday, he said the government is taking concrete steps to end educational backwardness in the country particularly from far-flung areas.
The Governor urged the University administration to promote research-based education and take steps for character building of the students.
On this occasion, Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan distributed degrees among passing out students for successfully completing Ph.D, MA/MSc and BBA/BCS.
He also gave away gold medals to the students for their outstanding performance.
Earlier, Vice Chancellor Maj Gen Hamid Shafiq (Retd) in his welcome address apprised the Governor and other participants about performance of the University.
