Amir wants World Boxing Champ from Pakistan

KARACHI: After winning World Boxing titles Amir Khan is now aiming to produce World Champion pugilist from Pakistan.


During a press conference he told reporters that Pakistan got abundant of boxing talent and they can be nurtured into a world champion. “I have achieved everything in boxing and now it is my life time dream to prepare and groom World Champion boxer from Pakistan,” he said.

He said that Pakistan got a great history in producing Asian champions and medal winning boxers in Olympics and Commonwealth games.

Amir said that keeping in view his vast international experience in amateur and professional boxing, he can train, guide and prepare quality boxers who can make Pakistan a world champion.

He said that it was a challenging task but he was looking forward with great hope and ambitions.

He said that he was planning to launch boxing academies in ten centres of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and other provincial capitals.

He said that without imparting high-level and scientific training and coaching world class boxers could not be produced.
