Zimbabwe on Tuesday recalled batsman Charles Coventry to their 16-man squad for the limited-overs tour of Pakistan, which will end the six-year international cricket hiatus in the subcontinent nation since the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore.
Coventry, who last played for Zimbabwe in an ODI in March 2011, will be playing his first international match in more than four years. Elton Chigumbura will continue to lead the side for the tour that involves three ODIs and two T20 internationals.
The tour begins May 22 after a Zimbabwe Cricket delegation expressed its satisfaction on the security arrangements in Lahore, where all the matches of the 10-day tour will be played.
Zimbabwe Cricket agreed the tour despite warnings about security by the Federation of International Cricket Association (FICA).
