LAHORE: Pakistan women’s cricket team returned to the country after completing their 2016 World Twenty20 campaign in India on Monday evening. Pakistan women’s cricket team managed to beat India and Bagladesh in their Women’s World T20 campaign but were knocked of the competition following their losses to England and West Indies.
The women’s cricket team arrived in the country in private airliner from India via Dubai.
The captain of Pakistan women’s cricket team Sana Mir, speaking to media upon her arrival, said that the whole side managed to clinch the victories through unity.
Mir said that she stands by her decision of retiring from international cricket. “I am retiring from international cricket so that new people step forward and lead the team from the front,” she added.
Condemning the heinous Lahore suicide attack which claimed the lives of at least 74 people, the green shirts skipper added that the whole team is saddened over the incident.
