Malik’s ton puts Pakistan on top on Day 1

ABU DHABI: Pakistan batsman, Shoaib Malik scored his third century in Test cricket as Pakistan finished the day on a high with the score reading 286 for the loss of four wickets on Day 1 of the first of the three-match Test series against England here on Tuesday.


Earlier, Pakistan skipper, Misbah ul Haq won the toss and elected to bat first as Pakistan went in with four specialist bowlers, with Yasir Shah missing out due to injury and Imran Khan Jr. replacing him as a seam bowler.

England on the other hand, too fielded almost a same composition of the squad.

Younis Khan, who scored 38 runs in the match became Pakistan’s top scorer in Test Cricket breaking the previous record of 8832 runs set by Javed Miandad.
