Chittagong: Bangladesh bowled South Africa out for 248 in their first innings on the opening day of the first cricket Test against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Tuesday.
Making his Test debut, Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman bowled remarkably well and captured four wickets for 37 on his Test debut to give the hosts the upper hand.
He was assisted by leg-spinner Jubair Hossain who claimed three for 53.
For South Africa, Temba Bavuma top-scored with 54 and his was the last wicket to fall. He was dismissed by Mustafizur.
Other main scorers were Faf de Plessis (48), Dean Elgar (47) and Stiaan van Zyl (34).
Openers Tamim Iqbal (one not out) and Imrul Kayes (five not out) remained unbeaten as Bangladesh were 7-0 at stumps.
