Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 5 wickets in first T20

LAHORE: Pakistan has beaten Zimbabwe by 5 wickets as Mukhtar Ahmed and Ahmed Shehzad provided strong opening stand of 100 runs in first Twenty20 match played here at Qaddafi Stadium on Friday, NewsONE reported.


Mukhtar Ahmed scored 83 runs in 45 balls with the help of twelve 4s and three 6s, While, Ahmed Shehzad scored 55 runs in 39 Balls and smashed six 4s and one 6.

Cremer took 2 wickets. Williams, Panyangara and Vitori got 1 wicket each.

Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bat first against the host. Men in red set up 173 runs target on a loss of six wickets against Pakistan.

Chigumbura scored 54 runs in 35 balls with the help of eight 4s and one 6. While, Opener Masakadza scored 43 runs in 27 balls.

Mohammad Sami took three wickets. Pacer Wahab Riaz got two wickets. While, Shoaib Malik managed to bag 1 wicket.
