Pakistani envoy meets cricket team in Kolkata

KOLKATA: Pakistani High Commissioner in New Delhi Abdul Basit traveled to Kolkata on Friday and met cricket team on the eve of their high-voltage match against arch-rivals India.

The visit comes despite earlier reports that Abdul Basit was denied by Indian government to travel to Kolkata, a move which drew condemnations from Pakistan.

The high commissioner, however, was given the permission to fly to Kolkata

The Pakistani envoy met the cricket team at Taj Hotel in Kolkata and wished them well before their match against India.

Pakistan will have to rewrite the history when they take on India tomorrow at the Eden Gardens.

Pakistan has never beaten India in any Twenty20 or ODI world cup, making India the clear favorite to win the game.

Although cricket legends are backing Pakistan to win the game, Shahid Afridi eleven will surely be tested.
