Pakistani HC hosts reception for Pakistan team in Colombo

ISLAMABAD: The High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Major General (Retd) Syed Shakeel Hussain hosted a banquet to welcome Pakistan cricket team in Colombo.

The team is visiting the island nation to play three Tests, five ODIs and two T20s with their Sri Lankan counterparts, said a press release received here.

Welcoming the cricketers in Sri Lanka, Shakeel Hussain said that Pakistani cricket team was very well known to the Lankan cricket fans.

He also felicitated the green-shirts for their splendid performance and victory in the first test match in Galle.

The High Commissioner expressed the hope that the team would continue their winning performance during their remaining matches.

Team Manager Naveed Akram Cheema said that the player as well as team management was pleased to be present at the event.

He said that the players were determined to do well in the games ahead and would contribute their best to win laurels for the country.

The players of the Pakistani Test squad, team management, coaches as well as senior officers of the Pakistan High Commission attended the reception.
