LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan has deferred his decision to step down in the wake of team’s dismal performance in World Twenty20 and Asia Cup.
According to sources, Khan, who was to announce his resignation today, changed his mind on the intervention of PCB’s Executive Committee Chairman Najam Sethi.
Sources told that Sethi met Khan at PCB’s headquarters in Lahore and persuaded him to reconsider his decision.
“Please don’t resign for the time being. We will jointly resolve the issues facing the board,” Sethi said.
The PCB chief told Sethi that he was ready to sacrifice his post if it was beneficial for cricket in Pakistan.
