Shaheens ready to take on Lankan tigers in 2nd ODI

PALLEKELE: Pakistani Shaheens will take on Sri Lankan tigers on Wednesday in the second One Day International (ODI) match at Pallekele International Stadium.


After winning start Pakistan team is ready to grab back to back win to get the ticket of ICC Champions trophy 2017.

Pakistan team needs to win this series by the margin of 4-1 to qualify for second mega event of ICC after cricket world cup.

Pakistan team beat host team in first ODI of five match series by six wickets courtesy all-round performance of Mohammad Hafeez. He took four wickets and scored 103 runs in the first match of the series.

He was awarded by man of the match trophy for his all-round performance.

After previous win, Pakistan has become the “Asian Tiger” as far as cricket is concerned.

The green shirts now have the most wins than any Asian team in every format of cricket, be it a Test, ODI or T20 format.

Pakistan became the second team with most One Day International (ODI) wins after defeating hosts Sri Lanka in first ODI in Dambulla.

Leaving behind world’s top teams including South Africa, India, New Zealand and England, Pakistan now stands second in the list of most ODI winning teams with 447 wins.
