Pakistan’s ace fast bowler Wahab Riaz has been signed up by Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) side Rangpur Riders on the first day of draft for the T20 league’s third season.
The left-arm pacer joins seven other Pakistani cricketers who also completed their signatures with their respective BPL outfits.
Flamboyant opener from Karachi, Shahzaib Hasan will be representing Dhaka Dynamites along with fast bowler Sohail Khan — another Karachi player.
Emerging Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim partnered with his veteran compatriot Mohammad Sami and will be wearing the colours of Barisal Bulls.
The BPL kicks off on November 22 and will stage around 196 foreign cricketers with 53 players expected from Pakistan.
Earlier, Sylhet Superstars confirmed the signing of Shahid Afridi, who is undoubtedly the hottest T20 prospect from Pakistan.
Afridi is among the “five-six” players who will be paid above the cap of $70,000 according to a Dhaka based Bengali daily, Prothom Alo.
Shoaib Malik who recently scored his maiden Test double-ton in the first match of the on-going series against England too confirmed his involvement with newly inducted BPL outfit Comilla Victorians.
Tainted bowler Mohammad Amir also confirmed his signature with Chittagong Vikings on Wednesday regarding it as “the first step towards reviving [his] international career”.
Mohammad Asif who was found guilty of spot fixing during Pakistan’s tour of England in 2010 along with Amir is also present in the draft list for the lucrative BPL.
