At least 15 schools across the United Kingdom were sealed as a caller threatened to “behead and shoot children”, international news agencies reported on Monday.
According to reports, thousands of students were evacuated in schools from Kent to Newcastle after a series of anonymous phone calls vowed to “take children’s heads off”.
On GCSE exam day, the country’s schools plunged into chaos. The Mirror Online quoted one teacher as saying that the caller had threatened to shoot students and detonate a bomb.
Police and bomb disposal teams closed down the schools and launched a search operation.
