Senior Samajwadi Party leader and Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan today advised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to construct the Babri masjid in Ayodhya if it wants to return to power again. Azam Khan’s statement came on the 23rd anniversary of Babri masjid demolition.
Azam Khan also demanded the BJP-led NDA government impose a complete ban on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) while labelling it as a terrorist organisation.
“The outfit (RSS) is busy in implementing its agenda of creating hatred among communities. They are trying to create similar circumstances in the country that led to the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi in 1948,” the UP Cabinet minister told reporters in Rampur.
Azam Khan also accused the Modi government at the Centre of trying to divide the society on religious lines after BJP’s humiliating loss in Delhi and Bihar Assembly polls.
“After loosing Delhi and Bihar electoral battles, the saffron outfits are contemplating that it can recapture its lost citadels only by playing hate politics,” he said.
‘Ram Temple will be built in Ayodhya’
Controversial BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj also brought the Ram Temple agenda back to the fore today, saying Ram Temple will be built in Ayodhya.
“No power in the world can construct a mosque in Ayodhya. Only Ram Temple will be come up there. Mandir tha…mandir hai aur…mandir hi rahega,” the Unnao MP said.
