UNITED NATIONS: United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon reiterated his call on India and Pakistan Monday to resume dialogue to defuse tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) in disputed Kashmir region and working boundary after an exchange of fire at the weekend resulted in the death of a number of civilians.

“We continue to monitor the situation between (India and Pakistan),” Stephane Dujarric, a spokesman for the secretary-general said while responding to a question.

He said the secretary-general has all along encouraged India and Pakistan to resolve their differences through dialogue.

According to press reports, a three-member UNMOGIP team visited the Working Boundary at Kundanpur village in Sialkot on Saturday to review damages caused by the firing at the border.
