SRINAGAR: Complete shutdown will be observed in Occupied Kashmir on India’s Republic Day on Tuesday to invite the world’s attention towards continued denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination by New Delhi.

In a statement in Srinagar, veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani said India claims to be the largest democracy of the world but its democratic credentials stand badly exposed in occupied Kashmir.

Secretary General APHC, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, in a statement in Srinagar said India has no moral or constitutional justification to celebrate its Republic Day in Jammu and Kashmir. He said the territory is being occupied by India against the will of Kashmiri people.
