Manoj then called three of his friends, who started beating Sachin up. The group of friends beat did not stop their assault till Sachin lay dead on the dance floor,” said Jagdish Sharma, additional superintendent of police (rural) in Saharanpur.

According to cops, one of Manoj’s friends brought an iron rod to the fight and struck a blow to Sachin’s head with it. With that blow, the victim collapsed on the floor. Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital in an unconscious state, he was declared dead on arrival.

Police have charged the four with an FIR under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Three of the accused, including Manoj, have been arrested and the fourth is absconding.
