Indian PM Modi condemns attack on Bacha Khan University

NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condemned the Bacha Khan University attack in Charsadda that killed at least 20 people including students and a professor.


In his message on social media, Modi expressed sympathies with the bereaved families and extend good wishes to the attack victims.

Four terrorists were killed as security forces operation was commenced following terrorists attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda here on Wednesday morning, ISPR said.

According to ISPR, security forces clearance operation is commenced in Bacha Khan University. At least 20 people including a professor and students were killed and 50 injured when terrorists launched attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsada this morning when a Mushaira was in progress in connection with death anniversary of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.

According to ISPR, Quick Response Force contingents of Pakistan Army have reached the University and engaged the terrorists. Army helicopters are also hovering over the university campus.

ISPR said that four terrorists have been killed by security forces in operation against terrorist at Bacha Khan University Charsadda.

According to DIG Mardan Police Saeed Wazir, operation is in progress against the terrorists. 20 dead bodies were shifted to District Headquarter Hospital Charsadda.

Educational institutions across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were closed following Bacha Khan University attack.

Emergency has been implemented in all the hospitals in Charsadda, Mardan and Peshawar following the terrorists attack on Bacha Khan University.
