Kiev: Five servicemen killed, 39 injured in E. Ukraine fighting


KIEV: Five Ukrainian servicemen were killed and 39 injured in fighting Wednesday in eastern Ukraine, President Petro Poroshenko’s aide Yury Biryukov said Thursday.


The statement comes after rebel officials said five civilians and 14 militiamen were killed during Wednesday’s shelling of the city of Donetsk.

According to local officials, Ukrainian pro-government forces shelled the area 58 times.
