Libyan court sentences Gaddafi’s son to death


Tripoli: A criminal court in the Libyan capital has sentenced Saif Islam, the son of the late and former president Muammar Gaddafi, to the death penalty.


A Libyan court is to rule Tuesday on the case of Saif Islam Gaddafi and other former regime officials accused of war crimes during the 2011 revolution.

Others receiving the death penalty after court hearings included the former prime minister and the head of the country’s intelligence services.
