NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Wednesday broke silence over the lynching of a Muslim man by a Hindu mob in Dadri area of Uttar Pradesh by saying that the killing was ‘saddening’.
Modi told a newspaper that the Dadri killing and cancellation of a concert by Pakistan singer Ghulam Ali following a threat by Shiv Sena was ‘really sad’.
“The Dadri incident or opposition to Pakistani singer is undesirable and unfortunate. But what is the central government’s relation with these incidents”, Modi newspaper.
He said that federal government had no role in these incidents.
A Muslim man was lynched by a mob over rumours that he consumed beef at his home in Dadri.
