LONDON: Anas Sarwar, son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former governor of Punjab Chaudhary Sarwar, got elected as Member of the Scottish Parliament on the ticket of the Labour Party.

Anas Sarwar has previously served as a Member of the British Parliament in the West Minister from 2010 to 2014.

He was known for voicing the concerns of the Kashmiris and the Palestinians in the Parliament; however he had to suffer defeat in the recent elections.

Likewise, Labour party had to face setback in their campaign aiming for Scottish freedom. This time, Sarwar took part in the elections representing the Labour party and got elected as a Member of the Scottish Parliament.

Unfortunately, this glad news was short lived for the Sarwar family as the new-born daughter of Anas Sarwar’s elder brother died the very same day.
