UN chief condemns terrorist attack on Karachi bus

UNITED NATIONS: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemned “in the strongest possible terms” Wednesday’s terrorist attack on a bus in Karachi, reportedly killing at least 45 members of the Ismaili community and injuring several others.

The Secretary-General urged the Government of Pakistan to take swift measures aimed at effective protection of minorities in the country, a statement by Ban’s spokesman Stephane Dujarric said.

The UN chief called on Pakistan to bring to justice the perpetrators of this “despicable act”.
