US calls for taking forward peace talks with Afghan Taliban

WASHINGTON: The United States has called on Afghanistan and Pakistan to continue to cooperate to take forward the process of reconciliation with the Afghan Taliban to end the violence in the region.

U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby at a daily press briefing said that his country welcomed the dialogue and the cooperation that had happened between the two countries.

To a question, he said that Pakistan has suffered deeply from Taliban attacks inside their country and their soldiers have rendered sacrifices just like Afghan soldiers.
