US committed to work with Pakistan for elimination of terrorism

WASHINGTON: United States has reiterated its commitment to work with Pakistan for the elimination of terrorism from the region.

US State Department spokesperson John Kirby in a daily press briefing said relations with Pakistan are very important and vital for the United States because we have shared threats and shared concerns, shared interest in the region, and we’re going to continue to work at it.

He said Pakistan and Afghanistan still face a shared threat from terrorist networks that’s why we are working with the Government of Pakistan to counter that threat.

He said this is a shared, common enemy to the people of Afghanistan and the people of Pakistan, both countries have been working and communicating together, and we want to see that kind of dialogue and cooperation continue and to improve.
