Govt decides to keep petrol prices unchanged in July

ISLAMABAD: Prices of petroleum products would remain unchanged during next month.

This was announced on Thursday by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar after consultations with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He said OGRA had recommended an increase of 1.93 rupee a litre in the price of petrol; 3.53 rupee for high octane; 8.62 rupee for Kerosene oil and 3.75 rupee a litre in the price of high speed diesel.

The Finance Minister said the Government has decided not to increase the prices in view of Ramazan and ensuing Eidul Fitr.

He said the Government will have to bear a burden of three billion rupees on this account.

The Minister, however, said the prices of light diesel oil are being increased by 5.38 rupee a litre in line with recommendations of OGRA. He said the commodity has a consumption of just three thousand litres and therefore, would not impact the common man.
