KARACHI: On Tuesday, World Bank has approved the loan of $ 70.64 million for improvement in the agriculture sector of Sindh.
Agreeing to a statement from the WB, the role of the loan is to increase production of the agriculture sector and providing access to small farmers to large markets. The loan will be distributed between 1,12,000 (0.12 million) small farmers possessing 66,000-acres of earth as a whole. The loan will also encourage investment from the private sector, added the WB statement.
Refund period of the loan will be 25 years. It is apposite to note here that the loan offered by the World Bank is a part of its interest rate plan.
