Power shortfall minimizes to 3500 MW

ISLAMABAD: Demand of electricity has decrease after rainfall in various areas of the country with a significant reduction in power shortfall.


According to Water and Power Ministry sources, electricity production in the country is 13,144 MW whereas the demand has minimized to 16,645 MW after which the shortfall has remained 3500 MW.

Besides this, further reduction in shortfall is also likely.

Due to fall in power demand, loadshedding duration has also been cut short.

Authorities claim that urban areas are facing five hours of power outage whereas rural areas are going through seven hours of loadshedding.

However, duration of loadshedding in line losses feeders is more than usual.
