ISLAMABAD: Chairman of Senate, Raza Rabbani has expressed reservations on Tuesday over ability of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to conduct free and fair elections and said that elites and bureaucrats are not ready to share power.
While talking to the media, Rabbani advised the commission to revisit its approach over usage of authority and attitude of the bureaucratic authority.
The Chairman of Senate advised the people to stand up for their rights while pointing out shortcomings in the electoral laws. He called for holding General Elections 2018 in democratic environment and said that the people would have been assured that there vote could bring the change.
He said that Pakistani’s elite wants to impose its authority and favor its interests over that of the common.
