In a country where every one claims to be a protector, flag bearer for freedom of expression, brutal attacks on Journalists speaks otherwise.
Ahmed Noorani, who is famously known for his investigative stories for ‘The News” daily Publication was attacked by unidentified attackers at Islamabad, near Zero Pint Area.
The attacker assaulted Noorani and his driver with knives, causing him injuries.
Both injured were taken to hospital, where they were treated.
It is reported that he is in stable condition, but sustained wounds on head.

Pakistan ranks 139 out of 180 countries on the World Press Freedom Index 2017 compiled by Reporters Without Borders, placing it among the world’s most dangerous countries for journalists.
In the lat 15 years, at least 117 journalists have been killed, while only three cases were taken up in judicial courts.
