Rangers exceeding mandate in Karachi: Aitzaz Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Opposition leader in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan has said that there is a perception that the Rangers have opened laundry in Karachi, adding that the paramilitary force is exceeding its mandate.

He was talking to newsmen at the parliament house on Monday. The PPP leader said that the Rangers’ action in Karachi would benefit Altaf Hussain and MQM’s militants wing. He said, “whoever reaches Rangers, he returns as clean man”. He said that same scenario happened in the cases of Farooq Sattar and Asif Hasnain.

Had Farooq Sattar announced disassociation before arrest by the Rangers, the situation would have been different now, he said. He said that now MQM is the same old MQM of Altaf Hussain.

The government of Pakistan should contact the UK authorities for action against Altaf Hussain, he said. He added that illegal offices should be demolished, but the legal offices should not be touched.

About Panama leaks issue, the opposition leader in Senate said that the next two to three days are very important. He said that the Panama papers leaks issue would not subside.

He claimed that Hussain Nawaz has purchased property of 42.50 million pound at One Hyde Park in UK, which is more expensive than Mayfair apartments. He claimed that they had documentary evidence of the deal.
