Imran Khan accepts Hassan Rouhani’s invitation for state visit

Web Desk: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani telephoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to congratulate him over his recent electoral victory in general elections 2018.

According to a statement issued by the PTI, Rouhani invited Imran Khan to visit Iran which he accepted.

Both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest in telephonic conversation.

Earlier in the day, the acting US Ambassador to Pakistan, John Hoover, called on Imran Khan at his Banigala residence. Hoover, who was accompanied by a US diplomatic delegation, held talks with the prime-minister-to-be on issues of mutual interest, read a statement issued by the PTI.

It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan claimed majority in recent General Elections and widely expected to become the next Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Imran Khan is widely criticized by his rivals for being short tempered and it is to be seen that how Imran will manage to develop relations with neighboring countries because in the past Pak-Iran relations faced various ups and downs and since Kulbhushan Jadev who is believed to be an agent of Indian Intelligence Agency RAW told that he was operating anti state missions from Iran.

Currently Iran is on the verge of getting new sanctions by USA and it is to be seen how Imran will shape his foreign policy regarding Iran.
