PTI all set to form government in Punjab, Centre

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on Monday has claimed that the party is finally in a position to form government in centre as well as in Punjab after it has the support of sufficient number of lawmakers.

Addressing to media PTI Spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said, the National Assembly is of around 328-330 members, out of which the PTI has the support of 168 members, including women and minority seats.

Explaining the number games PTI’s Fawad said that with the help of independents (seven seats), MQM-Pakistan (six seats), PML-Q (four seats), the Balochistan Awami Party (two seats) and the Grand Democratic Alliance (two seats) PTI will form govt in centre.

On the other hand PML-Q delegation met with PTI chief Imran Khan in Banigala and declared its support for PTI. According to the formula PML-Q will be given ministries in the center and Punjab.

Fawad Chaudhry further said that Talks with MQM-Pakistan are still ongoing as Jahangir Tareen is headed to Karachi to negotiate terms on the advice of Imran Khan.

The race for the crown of Punjab has gain pace as 14 MPAs-elect (member of provincial assembly) have formally announced to join PTI. Likewise, MPAs-elect Basit Bukhari and Khurrum Laghari has also pledges alliance for Imran Khan, taking party’s overall tally to 151.

three more members of provincial assembly (MPAs) has joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), enlarging party’s tally in Punjab Assembly to 131.

According to details, Independent candidate from Narowal (PP-46) Pir Syed Sair-Ul-Hassan Shah and from Rawalpindi (PP-7) Raja Sagheer joined the caravan of the Imran Khan.

MPA Sheikh Salman Naeem, who defeated Shah Mehmood Qureshi in PP-217 constituency in Punjab also joined the PTI.

He announced this decision after meeting Imran Khan at Bani Gala in Islamabad.

On Sunday, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid refused to support Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in forming the government in Punjab..

On the other hand, Sardar Ali Muhammad Mahar, an MNA-elect from NA-205, Ghotki, has decided to join the PTI.

On Saturday, four newly-elected independent MPAs from Punjab had joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Punjab Assembly Number Games:

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), out of 295 seats, the PML-N has bagged 129 followed by PTI which has got 123 seats.

The PML-Q has won seven seats, PPP six and Pakistan Awami Raj has taken one seat.

Independents elected to the provincial assembly stand at 29.

Both PML-N, PTI are locked in a battle to form the Punjab government. With the addition of today’s independent candidates, PTI’s seats soar to 151 in Punjab Assembly.
