The rift emerged within the ranks of newly elected Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) over the nomination of Jam Kamal for the chief minister’s slot.
According to sources, PTI’s Balochistan wing is unhappy with the announcement made by PTI leader Jahangir Tareen over the nomination of Jam Kamal Khan as CM Baluchistan.
The Balochistan Awami Party on Tuesday has announced to support Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf in centre, Balochistan for the formation of government.
PTI Balochistan said that the provincial party should have the right to make decisions pertaining to chief minister Balochistan and provincial ministers.
Speaking about the issue, Rind remarked that PTI can form its own government in Balochistan.
On Tuesday, a delegation of BAP met with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan at his Bani Gala residence.
Jam Kamal Khan was nominated for the slot of chief minister Balochistan by PTI leader Jahangir Tareen.
“Will form coalition govt with BAP in Balochistan, CM Balochistan will be from BAP,” said PTI leader Jahangir Tareen.
Jam Kamal said that BAP is with PTI for the betterment of Balochistan, adding that for the prosperous Pakistan PTI is the best option.
PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi also welcomed BAP’s decision to join hands with PTI for the greater good of Balochistan.
The recently formed BAP has become the largest political party in Balochistan with 18 out of 50 seats in the assembly.
The number of BAP MPAs has risen to 25 with the arrival of more independent candidates. The party needs just one more seat for a simple majority in the provincial assembly.
The PTI emerged as the leading party in the July 25 polls with 115 NA seats and has the required numbers to form its government in the Centre, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The PTI will sit in opposition in Sindh Assembly with 23 seats. In Balochistan, PTI will form coalition government with BAP.
