Cameron is presently in pre-production on three Avatar sequels. Star Sam Worthington stated last year that the movies will begin shooting in October 2014. They are due to hit cinemas in the middle of the December 2016 and December 2018, with Cameron is hoping to duplicate the spectacular success of the highest-grossing movie of all time. Released in 2009, Avatar has made $2.7bn worldwide.
