Bollywood director Rakesh Roshan diagnosed with throat cancer

Web Desk: The ‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’ Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan on Tuesday has revealed that his father Rakesh Roshan, a film director and former actor was diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago.


Hrithik shared his photo with father on instrgram and wrote, “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldnt miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know.”

“He is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him,” he continued.

Rakesh started off his career as an actor in 1970 from the movie Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani, followed by a few flamboyant flicks like Kboobsurat, Buniyaad, Bhagwan Dada and Kaamchor amongst others. The 69-year-old actor then emerged as a film director and helmed movies such as Karan Arjun, Koyla, King Uncle and Khoon Bhari Maang.

It is pertinent to mention here that Rakesh Roshan is preparing for the fourth sequel of ‘Krrish’ that will feature Hrithik as the male lead.
