Altaf fulfilled all requirements for his passport application – MQM MNA

ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, in return to the interior ministry’s claim, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MNA Abdul Rashid Godil said that MQM chief Altaf Hussain has fulfilled all the necessities regarding his application for a Pakistani identity card and passport.

“Our party leader is being meted outbusinesss by Pakistani agencies. The rulers are afraid that their cheating businesses will be closed,” MQM’s Rashid Godil spoke to media persons outside the Parliament House.


The Acting DG Passport gave this resolution during the Senate committee that was obtained under the chairmanship of Senator Talha Mahmood, on a query of Shahi Syed of ANP who had inquired as to why the passport was not being issued to MQM chief Altaf Hussain despite his repeated requests.

In the period of time, talking to the media in Islamabad today, the MQM MNA said that it was Hussain’s right to become a Pakistani passport, adding that the party chief’s supporters were frustrated regarding this issue.

Senator Tallha Mahmood questioned from the Ministry of Interior about the status of his diligence, however, additional secretary of the ministry expressed his ignorance.

The matter involving the national identity card and passport of London-based MQM chief has been compounded after the federal interior ministry suspended the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) manager stationed in London.

Later on the revelation of Acting DG Passport, Senator Shahi Syed in a lighter tone from MQM lawmaker Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi if his party chief would come to Pakistan in case he finds his new passport.

The regime has not averred that a Pakistani passport will not be put out to the MQM chief, MNA Riaz Hussain Pirzada stated, further assuring MQM just before they were about to stage a dharna outside the National Assembly.
