Ayyan’s remand extended till June 29

RAWALPINDI: The judicial remand for model Ayyan Ali was extended yet again on Monday after a Rawalpindi Customs court judge failed to show up for the hearing.

The embattled model has been sent on judicial remand nine times previously since her arrest from the airport for allegedly smuggling 0.5 million dollars on a Dubai-bound flight.

Ayyan was brought to the Customs court today under strict security in an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) vehicle.

The hearing, though, adjourned due to the judge’s absence and an ongoing strike by lawyers.

The case will now be heard on June 29.
