COAS meets UK Home Secretary, asks role in checking terrorists financing

LONDON: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif held a meeting with Britain’s permanent Home Secretary Theresa May, according to Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR).

DG ISPR, Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa in a message on twitter said, COAS Gen. Raheel asked UK to play role in checking international financing and communication of terrorists.

Earlier, General Raheel Sharif, while addressing a seminar at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), said that Pakistan’s disputes with India reside in the Kashmir issue.

The Army chief said Indian intransigence, Line of Control violations and indirect strategy versus Pakistan was negatively affecting the region. “Kashmir is an unfinished agenda. World must help in resolving Kashmir issue if they want genuine peace in the region.”
