COAS vows to bring terror war on logical end


ROME: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday said Pakistan had launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb to eliminate terrorism which was a global threat.


The army chief who is on an official visit to Italy, said during a speech in Centre of International Studies Rome that Pakistan will bring its war on terror to its logical end, purging the whole region of menace of terrorism.


“For world, terrorism is a conflict, for Pakistan it’s a war of survival, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Asim Bajwa quoting the army chief as saying.

Army chief said terrorists would not be allowed to reorganize, adding that the Operation Zarb-e-Azb will ensure establishment of peace in Pakistan and the whole world.


“Zarbe-Azb will ensure peace in Pakistan and beyond, terrorists won’t be allowed to re-establish,” said he. General Sharif said enemies of Pakistan were carrying out acts of terrorism to destabilize it.

“Terrorism has attacked our common roots, global threat needs global response. Only together can we win this war,” said the army chief.

COAS said Pakistan and Afghanistan were placed inseparably and shared their destiny.” Peace in one country not possible without peace in other,” he added.
