ISLAMABAD: On Friday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) provided a transcript of the nomination phase of Pakistan Tehrik-I-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to Arsalan Iftikhar, son of the late chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.
A written application to the ECP secretary, Arsalan had appealed that he be made a transcript of the PTI chief’s nomination form which the latter had failed when contesting elections for the National Assembly last year.
Later than, analyzing the nomination form, Arsalan may decide on his future course of action by filing a reference opposed to Imran with the ECP, eventually seeking his disqualification. Arsalan intends to seek proceedings for Khan’s disqualification from the National Assembly allegedly for concealing facts about certain facets of his personal life in the nomination phase.
An ECP official already identified as a public document figure, had been posted on the commission’s website to assure transparency and invite objections to the supplying of false information or secretion of facts.
