FO confirms 11 Pakistanis martyred in Makkah crane collapse

RIYADH: Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman said on Sunday night that the death toll of Pakistani nationals in the crane crash incident of Makkah has risen to 11.


According to the FO, Ali Raza of Lahore, Muhammad Yousaf and Muhammad Nadir of Quetta, Akhtu of Qila Saifullah, Muhammad Abdullah of Gakhar Mandi, Umme Naaz Muhammad and Ambar Bahadur Shah of Mardan, Gul Abdul Manan of Peshawar, Niaz Ali Niaz of Mohmand Agency, Ahmad Faiz of Lower Dir, and Naveed Murtaza of Sanghar were martyred in the incident.

Meanwhile, Arab TV released the initial report, making public the identities of all the martyred pilgrims. The report further said the rest who embraced martyrdom include 25 pilgrims from Bangladesh, as many from Iran, 10 from India, 23 from Egypt and 6 from Malaysia.

Pakistani Ambassador Manzoorul Haq said the families of the martyred are present in Makkah.
