KARACHI: All arrangements have been finalized to ensure foolproof security to observe Youm-e-Shahadat-e-Hazrat Ali (R.A) in a peaceful manner.
Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP), Karachi, Ghulam Qadir Thebo reviewed security measures ahead of the `Youm-e-Ali (21st of Ramdan)’.
He said that for 178 processions in the three zones for the Youm-i-Ali’ and 331 Majalis some 10,763 police personnel would perform security duty.
For the main procession, snipers would be deployed on rooftop along the route. At the central gathering place, watch towers would be set up.
The bomb disposal squad would perform the technical sweeping on the occasion.
Vehicles with special stickers would be allowed entry at the main procession.
Police commandos would be deployed and snap checking and searching would be carried out at sensitive places on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali. Intelligence and patrolling would also be enhanced.
